Michael Phelps: from kiddy pool to #1 Olympian

Posted by: dijay In: Sports

He may be the greatest Olympian of all time, but Michael Phelps was once just another pale, skinny 8-year-old in a Speedo.

Here’s little Mikey back in 1993 at the North Baltimore Aquatic Club.

And all it takes to be a stud is 14 gold medals.

Michael Phelps is making a habit of ‘history making’!

Starting today, Monday, for the first time in its history, Sports Illustrated has made one of its covers into a poster available for the public to buy.

And, of course, said cover is the one which features golden boy Phelps wearing all eight of his gold medals.

Here’s what Phelps had to say about the honor:

“I have spoken at length about my desires to help grow the sport of swimming and I am truly honored that Sports Illustrated has chosen to create this commemorative poster for fans across the US and around the world. I hope the poster will serve as a reminder to all that anything is possible.”

And we’re sure he hopes it makes him a lot of money too!
