Ana Ivanovic stormed to the Final of the French Open in Roland Garros by winning the blockbuster Semi-Final showdown with fellow Serbian Jelena Jankovic 6-4, 3-6, 6-4. This will see her overtake current WTA number 1 Maria Sharopova once the rankings are updated on Monday after the world number 1 crashed out in the fourth round earlier in the week.
Should she win the first Major of her career, it will cap a fantastic couple of weeks for the 20 year-old after it was announced that she had signed a worldwide endorsement contract with Rolex, the leading Swiss watchmaker and is also due to feature on the cover of August’s FHM magazine (below).
She will be the only active female tennis player to serve as an ambassador for the Rolex brand.
“I’m very happy to be partnering with Rolex,” said Ana. “It’s one of the most prestigious companies in the world and it feels good that they have shown confidence in me by offering me this contract. I will enjoy wearing Rolex watches on and off the court.”
